Dr. El Asmar is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she serves as Unit Medical Director for Meyer 8 and Meyer 9 and as Physician Advisor for the hospital.

As Unit Medical Director, Dr. El Asmar leads clinical operations for two of the largest hospitalist units, fostering collaboration among multidisciplinary teams and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. She partners closely with nursing, care management, and clinical staff to enhance communication, standardize best practices, and streamline care delivery.

In her role as Physician Advisor, Dr. El Asmar collaborates with clinical and administrative leaders on hospital-wide utilization management, bridging clinical expertise with operational strategy to enhance care quality, resource stewardship, and patient outcomes.

Dr. El Asmar earned her medical degree from the American University of Beirut and completed residency training in internal medicine at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. She is deeply committed to excellence in patient care and is particularly passionate about transitions of care, multidisciplinary collaboration, and advancing quality improvement initiatives.

She actively contributes to hospital-wide committees focused on patient and staff safety, quality improvement, and utilization management, championing systemic improvements that benefit patients, providers, and the institution.
